Amazing Cafes in Vietnam

Vietnam is a true coffee lovers paradise and major cities have unlimited supply of cafes that all serve wonderful coffee! Now as a coffee lover I did not even image what type of coffee heaven I was entering. Whilst in Vietnam I might have not appreciated all of ways that my coffee was prepared (maybe I did not like the milk, or the foam, or something else) but not once did I not like that actual coffee. Vietnam definitely has wonderful coffee and a vibrant coffee culture that will take you by surprise. Coffee flavours and any special recipes vary with regions and of course there is greater offer within the higher populated cities that are also on the tourist trails.

Coconut, Salted and Egg Coffee – Just a Few of Special Coffee Flavours in Vietnam

Ho Chi Ming (Saigon)

I am certainly very biased but Ho Chi MIng is an extraordinary place – a city vibrant with life, stunning architectural contrasts, overwhelming smells and sounds and so busy with people and traffic! When I first visited Saigon, I did not expect to fall in love with it so quickly but it definitely stole my heart. As a major city with a steady stream of tourism, Ho Chi Ming has an abundance of coffee shops and boasts its offering of coconut coffee. Whilst coconut coffee might have not originated here, it is definitely very popular and can be found on the menu of most coffee shops.

Da Nang

Da Nang is a beach town in the middle of Vietnam that has absolutely stunning beaches and a very vibrant restaurant and cafe culture. It was the place where I had some of the best coconut coffees and found ‘corn’ coffee which was not so widely available in other places. What made Da Nang unique for me was that it has coffee shops that were based right at the beach. When visiting beach towns it’s very common to find restaurants or bars on the beach or with amazing beach views but it is very rare to find actual coffee shops or places that serve specialty coffee right on the beach. This was a really unexpected and wonderful surprise that made my visit just extra enjoyable!

Hanoi

Egg coffee originates in Hanoi and you can visit the actual cafe where it was invented.
